About

This blog is to share community building stories, experiences and lessons learned. We want to share stories of what worked and what did not work so well for. Sometimes we will ask for opinions from other community builders and share problems we are facing with the wider world. We hope this blog will become a plave for debate and collaboration.

Who are we? The blog was originally founded by a few employees at the Symbian Foundation, who work with communities. The initial contributors to this blog were are Ian Hutton, Lars Kurth, Lauren Sarno, Sebastian Brannstroem and Victor Palau. When the Symbian Foundation was dissolved, the blog was continued by Lars Kurth, who now is the community manager for xen.org. The blog is open to anybody who has experience with communities, community leadership and community management. Just send me a line on community.manager at xen.org. When the blog was originally started, the founders realized that there is not much material and help on community building out there. Building communities is truly an art today, but shouldn’t be.
